Sony’s PlayStation will launch a new Crunchyroll anime hub within its PlayStation 5 gaming console’s home screen next year to more closely align the company’s anime projects and anime-inspired games. Launching in spring 2027, the new PS5 anime destination is “designed to make it easier for the PlayStation community to discover and explore the anime content they enjoy,” per Sony Interactive Entertainment. The PS5-Crunchyroll news was announced Wednesday by PlayStation president and CEO Hideaki Nishino at the inaugural Crunchyroll Anime Future Forum, where Sony also unveiled its new Crunchyroll Storyworks division.
